Wedding Studios vs Independent Videographers

Couples often are unsure about whether to hire a studio/team or an independent videographer for their wedding. First off, this is a definitely something that mostly depends on which studio or videographer you are talking about, but there are some things you should know.

A wedding studio is typically a team of videographers and/or photographers that work together. Sometimes a studio may even offer DJ services as well. The main benefit to hiring a studio or large company for your wedding is the pricing/discounts. Often with these types of companies, if you book videography and photography together then you receive a discount. For many couples, this can be a budget friendly way to secure your photography and videography. The downside you may ask? The downside to hiring a wedding studio is the fact that it is a team. You often don't know who will actually be photographing/filming your wedding and the photos/videos are often inconsistent in terms of the quality.

Hiring an independent photographer/videographer is definitely going to be more expensive than hiring a team, but you get what you pay for. When you hire a single photographer or videographer, you know exactly what you are getting- in terms of the style, quality, and the individual. Keep in mind these individuals ARE their companies, so they take their work very seriously compared to those who work for a wedding studio. If you are looking for the best photographer/videographer for your wedding, hiring individuals instead of teams is usually the best way to go.
