Toronto offers a lot of fantastic wedding venues, but it's not always easy to find a great Toronto photoshoot location. The difficult part is also finding a spot that is relatively close-by to your venue. The last thing anyone wants is to spend hours of their wedding day stuck in Toronto traffic. These beautiful photoshoot spots in different areas around the city will help you identify which spots are the closest to your venue. Let's begin!
High Park
High Park is located in the middle of Toronto (just West of the downtown area) and offers tons of beautiful backdrops for your photoshoot (espescially in the Fall). It's the perfect place to add in some greenery and colours to your photos and video. Since it's such a large park, you will need to decide beforehand which entrance and where in the park you want to do the photos. As well, you will likely need a permit so make sure to check and get one if necessary. The last thing you want is a by-law officer telling your whole wedding party they need to leave.
Distillery District
The distillery district is located just West of the downtown core and offers quaint 19th century vibes. Tons of red brick backdrops, cobblestone walkways, and classic lamp-posts characterize this popular area. One thing to keep in mind- this is a busy spot like many other places in Toronto and there are almost always people walking around there. That being said, it's a pretty big area so there should be some areas that you can do photos without a ton of people. It's always a good idea to check these spots out as well beforehand to see which spots would work best for photos. Like most pretty areas in Toronto, the distillery district requires a photo permit so make sure to secure that well before the wedding!
Guild Park and Gardens
Guild Park and Gardens is a beautiful public park in Scarborough that offers a gorgeous combination of architecture and elegant gardens with vibrant colours. As seen in the picture above, it features a stunning Greek stage with huge columns that definitely provides a unique backdrop for photos- espescially for your full wedding party. The gardens are beautifully arranged with walk-ways and always look amazing for portrait shots. There's also a log cabin that can be used for photos, offering even more variety with a rustic option for a backdrop. This spot should certainly not be overlooked as a great photoshoot location in the Scarborough area. It also houses a wedding venue (Guild Inn Estate), so you could even consider booking your wedding at the venue as well!
Osgoode Hall
This location is right downtown and may offer a good option for those who are getting married downtown and don't want to travel far for their photoshoot. It's an 18th century building that provides a great backdrop for photos (you can also utilize the stairs for some fantastic poses). There's some walking paths with trees and gardens throughout the area to add some green to the scene. Definitely a nice spot for downtown Toronto photos!
Civic Centre Resource Library
When you think of a library, you're probably not thinking about using one as a photoshoot location, but this is one is pretty special. Located in Vaughan, this is a great option for those getting married close-by. As you can see from the picture above, it offers a dazzling backdrop with it's unique architecture. There's other buildings as well with cantilevered designs and reflective glass walls offering lots of creative options for beautiful photos. If you're into architecture, this spot should definitely be considered as it offers an amazing setting for your photoshoot. Bonus- it has lots of parking, so no worries there.
Toronto Botanical Gardens
Located in mid Toronto, this is a great spot that offers tons of greenery and colours for your photos. The area offers 17 award winning themed gardens across an area of 4 acres. This is truly a gem within a big city as it offers an escape from the buildings and concrete. There are tons of walking trails and benches so it definitely provides tons of different opportunities for angles and backdrops.
